Welcome to the Brazos Valley Historical Miniatures web site.

We are the College Station, TX, chapter of the Lone Star Historical Miniatures (LSHM) organization. Our group is an informal, non political, organization of individuals interested in miniature games, war games, and modeling in general. Anybody who shares our interests, and wants to have fun, can join our group: please look at the bottom of the page for our mailing list. A personal blog containing some latest news and gaming events related to BVHM can be found here.

The mailing list is our primary mean of organization and where our events, schedule, and discussions are posted. If you experience any problem in joining the mailing list, please contact us.

Participation to our games is free and we have a symbolic support fee of $ 5.00 per year that is not required to participate to the games. It is only reccomended if you want to support the LSHM organization and to participate to some state-wide conventions and events. You don't need to buy or provide anything to the group: just show up and play. We usually organize our games providing all that is necessary to play.

The group is open to organize educational games and events for schools and museums, no fee is charged beside basic expenses (if any).

At this time, April 2007, there are few members remaining in the group since some of our gamers have graduated from Texas A&M University and have moved out of town in the last six months. We are actively looking for new gamers in the Brazos Valley (and beyond) interested in joining our group and play some games. Please drop us a line if you're interested! Although we are interested in Historical gaming, we like playing Fantasy games as well. If you're a Warhammer or other fantasy miniature gamer, try to get in contact with us anyway, it is likely that you'll find opponents to play with.

Meeting Place

We usually get together at the "Larry J. Ringer" Public Library, 1818 Harvey Mitchell Pkwy South, College Station, TX.

Schedule

We meet on Saturdays, from 1.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. or Sundays from 1.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. Sometimes we also meet during weekdays, in the evening from 6.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.

Games

This is a non exhaustive list of the games that we usually hold at the library.

• Flames of War a fast paced World War II miniature game with 15mm figures. It can be played one against one or in larger games scenarios, which is what we usually do. The game is an accurate representation of WWII company (or battallion) level combat that usually comes to a decisive conclusion within two hours.
• Chain Reaction is a general skirmish level game with 25 or 28mm figures. A number of different games can be played with this rule system, i.e. Cowboys, Star Wars, Zombies, Space Marines, Pirates, etc.
• Mustangs and Phantoms 1/300th aerial games in WWII and modern jet era.
• Bag The Hun 1/300th WWII aerial game for Battle of Britain, also adapted for Star Wars sci-fi space fighters combat.
• Check your 6! - WWII aerial combat, 1:100 or 1:144 scale. New and fun!
• Canvas Eagles 1/100th aerial combat during WWI
• Pig Wars a skirmish level with 28mm figures set during the Dark Ages.
• DBA - De Bellis Multitudinis, soon to come.
• Robo Rally super-fun board game.
